The invitation-only New Frontiers conference begins with dinner Friday, August 18. Day-long working sessions will be held on Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20. The purpose of the conference is to explore areas of current interdisciplinary research on infinity and to produce recommendations for further research. The results of the conference will be twofold:
1) CTNS anticipates the publication of a scholarly volume on the concept and meaning of infinity viewed through the perspectives of mathematics, physics and cosmology, philosophy and theology.
2) CTNS and JTF anticipate that, as part of a larger effort to support in-depth work on infinity through a future international symposium and research grant program, the conference participants will draft a series of recommendations on the way long-range research on this topic should be pursued by JTF.
