Science and Theology Advanced Research Series (STARS)

STARS —The New Quest: Program Overview
Purpose: To identify and recruit a wide variety of promising young scientists to explore the implications of natural science regarding ultimate reality through workshops and through funded team research with seasoned philosophers and theologians / religious scholars.
Method: 1) Convene a series of high level workshops for promising young scientists led by distinguished scientists, philosophers and theologians / religious scholars. These scientists should be relatively new to interdisciplinary research and keenly interested in the broader implications of science about Ultimate Reality. 2) Support ground breaking research conducted by small teams of scientists, philosophers and theologians / religious scholars through research grants of $80,000 and $120,000 awarded on a highly competitive basis.
