Science and the Quest for Ultimate Reality:
Science and Theology Advanced Research Series (STARS).
A Program of the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences

Duration: Two years +
Description: Responsibilities will include identifying and recruiting a wide variety of promising young scientists to explore the implications of natural science regarding ultimate reality through workshops and through funded team research with seasoned philosophers and theologians / religious scholars. This program (grant pending) is rooted in the previous seven-year long Science and the Spiritual Quest project .
Requirements: Candidates must have: completed a doctoral degree (physical sciences preferred), interest in philosophical issues raised by science, interest in constructive connections between science, philosophy and religion, knowledge of the “science and religion” literature and excellent writing skills; the skill to communicate with world-class scientists verbally and in writing and convene multiple workshops; the ability to promote the program to potential scholars and track the program budget; the willingness to travel extensively. Start date: Summer 2005, contingent on final grant confirmation.
